Maintenance · Whole Fleet Tracking

Every boat, every day, one glance

Stick a QR code on every transom, follow a repeatable fleet-check rhythm, and read a single health score per boat. That's how clubs with 30 boats feel like clubs with 6.

1. QR-based fault capture

Every boat is one scan away

Generate a branded QR sticker for each boat and stick it on the transom or under the coaming. Anyone - member, visitor, instructor, parent - can raise a fault in under a minute: scan, tick category, add optional photo, submit.

  • No login, no app, no account required for the reporter
  • Boat ID pre-fills automatically from the QR scan
  • Photo attachments stored directly on the job
  • Reports tagged qr-report so you can filter them

2. A fleet-check methodology that sticks

A rhythm, not a heroic effort

The best-run clubs don't check their whole fleet on one exhausting Saturday - they check a few boats every week. FleetFixer's check groups and cadence reminders give you a rolling schedule so nothing is overdue for long.

  • Split the fleet into 4 groups, one checked per week - one group per month, rotating
  • 10-minute quick check template: hull, lines, rudder, bung, buoyancy, sail
  • Overdue checks bubble to the top of the home panel automatically
  • Volunteer bosuns see exactly what's due this week - no spreadsheet handover
3. One-look health metrics

One number per boat. One colour for the fleet.

Every boat has a live health score from 0 to 100 based on three signals - check recency (how long since the last inspection), open fault count weighted by priority, and repair turnaround (how fast faults close).

  • Green 80–100: safe to sail, recently checked, no critical faults
  • Amber 50–79: attention needed - overdue check or unresolved faults
  • Red 0–49: should not sail until issues are resolved
  • Fleet-wide average tracked over time - the KPI your committee actually acts on

How to roll it out

A one-afternoon setup

Most clubs have QR stickers in hand and their first check cycle running within a week.

1

Import your fleet

Bulk-add boats from a CSV or enter them via the admin panel. Each boat gets a unique ID used by every downstream feature.

2

Generate QR stickers

Download the branded sticker set, print on waterproof vinyl, stick on every transom. Takes an afternoon with a small team.

3

Define check groups

Split your fleet into 4 groups. FleetFixer rotates group checks week-on-week so nothing falls off the cadence.

4

Watch the scores

Within the first cycle you'll see every boat's health score populated and the colour-coded dashboard tell you what to do next.

"We used to argue over which boats had been checked. Now the committee opens one screen and we just look at the colours."
