1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses the FleetFixer platforms: Maintenance, Learn, and Race. It covers account holders, members and athletes invited by a club or business, and anyone who views or posts content through our services.

This policy forms part of our terms of service. By using any FleetFixer platform you agree to follow it. If you are responsible for other users (for example, a club administrator or a parent), you are also responsible for helping them understand and follow these rules.

2. Prohibited activities

You must not use the FleetFixer platforms to do any of the following:

  • Anything unlawful or fraudulent, or anything that helps someone else break the law.
  • Gaining or attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data, including hacking, probing, or bypassing our security controls.
  • Scraping, harvesting, or bulk-extracting data, or abusing our rate limits and automated interfaces.
  • Uploading or distributing malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain access to systems or data.
  • Posting defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive content, or content that bullies or intimidates others.
  • Infringing anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, including posting content you do not have permission to use.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially redistributing the platforms or their content without our written permission.

3. Media and minors

Sailing communities often include children and young people, so we take extra care with photos, videos, and personal information.

Do not upload photos or videos of an identifiable person without their consent. For anyone under 18, the rules are stricter: for a child under 16 you need verifiable parental consent, and for a young person aged 16 to 17 you need the young person's own consent before sharing media of them.

Intimate imagesSharing or threatening to share non-consensual intimate images is strictly forbidden and is a criminal offence under the Online Safety Act 2023.

You must not use the platforms to contact a minor offline, arrange to meet a minor, or share a minor's location. These behaviours put children at risk and are treated as serious breaches of this policy.

4. Illegal content and removal

We remove illegal content promptly once it is reported to us. This includes child sexual abuse material and non-consensual intimate images, which we remove as quickly as we reasonably can and refer to the relevant authorities, such as the police and the Internet Watch Foundation.

FleetFixer is a service likely to be accessed by children, and we act in line with our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023. We may preserve evidence of illegal activity and cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires or permits it.

5. Reporting

If you see content or behaviour that breaks this policy, please tell us. You can email safeguarding@fleetfixer.io or use the in-app report option next to the content concerned.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999 first, then let us know so we can act on our side.

6. Enforcement

When this policy is broken, we take graduated steps that match the seriousness of the breach. Depending on the circumstances, these can include:

  • A warning, asking you to stop the behaviour or remove the content.
  • Removing or restricting access to specific content.
  • Temporary suspension of an account.
  • Permanent termination of an account and access to the platforms.

For serious breaches, particularly those that put children or others at risk, we may suspend or terminate access immediately and without prior warning.

7. Appeals

If we take action against your account or content and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal. Email safeguarding@fleetfixer.io within 30 days of our decision, telling us what happened and why you think it should be reconsidered.

We will review your appeal fairly and let you know the outcome. While an appeal is open, any suspension may stay in place until we have finished our review.

Need to report a concern?

Our safeguarding team reviews reports about content, conduct, and the safety of children.
