The rules for what you can and cannot do on the FleetFixer platforms, including keeping children safe online.
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses the FleetFixer platforms: Maintenance, Learn, and Race. It covers account holders, members and athletes invited by a club or business, and anyone who views or posts content through our services.
This policy forms part of our terms of service. By using any FleetFixer platform you agree to follow it. If you are responsible for other users (for example, a club administrator or a parent), you are also responsible for helping them understand and follow these rules.
You must not use the FleetFixer platforms to do any of the following:
Sailing communities often include children and young people, so we take extra care with photos, videos, and personal information.
Do not upload photos or videos of an identifiable person without their consent. For anyone under 18, the rules are stricter: for a child under 16 you need verifiable parental consent, and for a young person aged 16 to 17 you need the young person's own consent before sharing media of them.
You must not use the platforms to contact a minor offline, arrange to meet a minor, or share a minor's location. These behaviours put children at risk and are treated as serious breaches of this policy.
We remove illegal content promptly once it is reported to us. This includes child sexual abuse material and non-consensual intimate images, which we remove as quickly as we reasonably can and refer to the relevant authorities, such as the police and the Internet Watch Foundation.
FleetFixer is a service likely to be accessed by children, and we act in line with our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023. We may preserve evidence of illegal activity and cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires or permits it.
If you see content or behaviour that breaks this policy, please tell us. You can email safeguarding@fleetfixer.io or use the in-app report option next to the content concerned.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999 first, then let us know so we can act on our side.
When this policy is broken, we take graduated steps that match the seriousness of the breach. Depending on the circumstances, these can include:
For serious breaches, particularly those that put children or others at risk, we may suspend or terminate access immediately and without prior warning.
If we take action against your account or content and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal. Email safeguarding@fleetfixer.io within 30 days of our decision, telling us what happened and why you think it should be reconsidered.
We will review your appeal fairly and let you know the outcome. While an appeal is open, any suspension may stay in place until we have finished our review.
Our safeguarding team reviews reports about content, conduct, and the safety of children.
